He has tried real estate disputes, breach of contract cases, personal injury claims, medical malpractice claims, insurance contract interpretation matters, American Disability Act claims, commercial landlord tenant disputes and even a few dog bite and cat cases.
David is an accomplished litigator, sought after arbitrator for the courts in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties, and business and estate planning attorney. He started his practice in 1985 with Keith Swensen at an insurance defense and general civil practice law firm. When their senior partner left the law firm in 1990, David and Keith formed their partnership. When Keith indicated he would retire in 2014, David moved his law practice to Beaverton, Oregon. David's clients include individuals, local businesses, national and international companies, manufacturers, service providers, insurers and financial institutions. Past clients include Lennox Industries, Fireman's Fund Insurance, Big Shot Pictures, Inc., Metro Overhead Door Company, Contech Construction Products, Inc., Fleet One LLC, Industrial Gasket, Inc., GE Commercial Distribution Finance, Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc., Perry Ellis International, Carl Zeiss Vision, Inc., Schindler Elevator Corporation, BioStudio Visual Communications, Inc., Marcone Appliance Parts Co., Boring Petroleum, Inc., Tarr Oil, LLC, DHL Danzas Air & Ocean, Messe Munchen, North American Specialty Insurance Company, and Fine Line Concrete Cutting, Inc., among many others. Though he is experienced in documentation of business transactions, debt recovery and dispute resolution, he also enjoys assisting families with their estate plans, preparing their wills and trusts, and when necessary, helping clients with conservatorships, guardianships and probating the estates of his clients' family or friends that have passed away. Since 1985 he has volunteered monthly at the Neighborhood House Senior Center, providing legal assistance to seniors and under income individuals. Such matters have included preparation of wills, trusts, conservatorships, guardianships, and probating estates. In 2007 the Multnomah Bar Association awarded him the Senior Law Project Volunteer of the Year. When not at work, David enjoys listening to and playing fingerstyle and blues guitar, experiencing the fine dining available in the Portland area with his family and friends, and escaping the metropolitan life to enjoy the vast unpopulated areas in Eastern Oregon with his German Shorthair Pointer. |
